Story
I am aiming to raise money to support the Far North in becoming more suicide safe and I would welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make!
I lost my daughter (Jacinta) to suicide in October 2009 and I am on a mission to make a difference.
Lifeline has been providing the Living Works SafeTALK and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) to community members who are prepared to stand up and make a difference against suicide. SafeTALK provides the participants with a confidence to talk openly about suicide if they recognise someone may be at risk. ASIST provides the skills to intervene and support the person through the crisis and link them to resources available.
I have completed the ASIST training and believe that this training is essential for saving lives.
